VOCAT has advised that they will now authorise payment for psychological or counselling sessions undertaken remotely, including in instances where an award has already been made for face to face sessions.
For psychologists and counsellors, this means that if you have been authorised to receive payment for your services for a VOCAT patient, you can deliver sessions remotely as appropriate, and will still be guaranteed payment.
For future applications to VOCAT, awards for psychological or counselling sessions will also be claimable where the sessions are to be undertaken remotely.
For the Invoice Form 5, the applicant’s signature is not required where remote counselling has been conducted and a signature cannot be obtained. In these circumstances, VOCAT requests that a tax invoice on letterhead be provided to the applicant’s lawyer together with the Form 5. This arrangement will be in place until 11 December 2020.
